Description
The intent of the program is to increase the safety awareness of mower equipment operators.
This program includes both classroom and hands-on skills practice. All participants are responsible for bringing the following safety equipment:
-Safety glasses -Sturdy, closed-toe non-slip shoes
-Hearing protection -Long Pants
Topics Will Include:
· Understanding Risks and Hazards of Mowing
· Operational Site & Mower Assessment
· Safe Mowing and Operation Techniques
· Safety During Shutdown
· Safety Practices During Maintenance
· Hands-on Mowing Demonstrations and Walk-around
Participants will receive a manual to take back to their agency to assist them in presenting mower safety programs to agency staff. Participants are encouraged to bring a copy of an agency Mower Owners and Operators Manual to use as part of the program.
*Class size is limited to 16-1 registrant per member
